A Sewing Sneak Peek

 So my sweet friend, Jennie, is preparing to deliver her fourth child.  Yippee!!   She asked me to sew some items for her and I was thrilled!  Since she had to go and move away (darn you girl) I am giving her a little sneak before it arrives on her doorstep!

So, here you go Jennie!  A lil peek!  Hope you enjoy snuggling your little guy in his new stuff!!!

A Little Holiday Sewing

We had a super fun "Holiday Event" a week ago!  (more to come on the details soon!)  The adults had ugly Christmas sweaters and shirts to wear.  But the poor kiddos had nothing. So I whipped up some cute little shirts for them!!  If I had more time I would have listed some in my Etsy store! Next year, right?!

This one was for our buddy Micah!  He liked it so much he has requested I make him one with a penguin now!!

This was for our man Nate!   I just love that green polka dot fabric!

 And of course this one is for my big girl, Kennedy!   I have a strange obsession with ribbon so this was totally fun to make!!!!

Quinn's 1st Birthday Party - Part 2

Part 2 of Quinn's 1st Birthday Party!!!

The rainbow theme was everywhere!! Another big thanks to my mom and Kennedy for helping to blow up all those balloons!!!
I sewed the rainbow bunting that is hanging below the balloons. I really wish I would have gotten a closer shot of it. I plan to use it for lots of future birthday parties!!

I made this balloon wreath for the front door. It was super simple to create! This is another item I plan to use for many future parties!!!

Here is a photo of the entire rainbow food table! (Don't worry, we did serve regular food as well!!) The large white tray on the right side of the table eventually held cut up fruit...in rainbow colors of course!

Here is the fireplace...and the spot where little Miss Q opened her gifts!!! I sewed the streamers together...yes, a bit overboard maybe. But I took two long sections of streamer and ran them through my trusty Singer and tried to ruffle it a bit. I love the look AND they are so sturdy they can be re-used for another party! :)

The bunting with Quinn's name was another fun sewing project! I adore how well it turned out..I just wish I would have used a capital Q at the beginning of her name! ;)

Here is a close up of her name bunting... I haven't worked with felt much in the past but I think git may be a new favorite of mine! I love how forgiving it is!

My last sewing project was Quinn's birthday shirt!!! I just made it super simple to match with a tutu she already had. She was a happy girl the entire party!!!More photos of the birthday guests and the birthday girl will be coming soon!!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

I finally decided to share the patriotic outfits I made the girls! I am "cheating" and posting photos of the girls wearing them on Memorial Day! (But they are wearing them today too!!)

I had seen people adding ric rac to these skirts all over the internet but always in one color. It just popped into my head that red and blue would make a great little skirt! (the skirts were from Walmart and solid colors).
For the tank top, I kind of followed a tutorial here at Ashley's blog Make It Love It. I decided to make these the night before our Memorial Day event, so I was rushed. But I did you an old red t-shirt for the red stripes and then just sewed the stars with blue thread.

Our 4th of July festivities started on June 30th! But below are two photos of the girls at the Falcon Valley fireworks from the 1st! Kennedy got her hair sprayed red and orange! You can see her fully enjoying her slushie too!


Quinn was so tired she was asleep before we arrived and slept while Kennedy jumped on the inflatables and played. Once the fireworks began she woke up and we were curious how she would react! But she was fabulous! No crying or stressing! She just stayed in her stroller and watched!!!!
We have another shindig tonight! Can't wait to share all the photos later!!! Happy 4th!

Baby Blankies

I am just sharing some more sewing projects I have finished lately. Some baby blankies....I love making these!! In this cool weather, these are the perfect size to place on your little one's lap in their carseat.

The first one is a cute farm scene...and white chenille on the back.





This one I made for Miss Quinn...I adore these happy birds!!!!! It also has white chenille on the back.


And finally some cute lil animals...again with white chenille on the back.

Hello Kitty Outfit

I recently made a little outfit for one of Kennedy's friends for her birthday. The little gal loves Hello Kitty! So Kennedy picked out some Hello Kitty fabric and I sewed away!

I am going to share a very basic tutorial for you (if you can even call it a tutorial) ....this was a fairly simple outfit!

Supplies:
basic tee
1/2 yd main fabric
1/2 yd coordinating fabric
1/8 yd coordinating fabric
Heat n Bond (sewable)
Basic sewing supplies


I just traced a heart onto my white fabric. And did the same thing with the polka dot fabric.

Then follow the instructions on the Heat n Bond package to adhere them to your t-shirt.
Because I don't have an embroidery machine, I just used a tight zigzag stitch around the hearts.
I made the Hello Kitty fabric "flower", added a button to the front and a pin to the back. I pinned it to the shirt but it can really be placed anywhere!

The skirt was easy, too! I measured on Miss K how long I wanted the skirt and added about an inch. For the width I just used selvage to selvage. I then cut a strip from the polka dot fabric that was about 4 inches long and from selvage to selvage. The polka dot fabric was folded in half and sewn to the bottom of the skirt. Next the entire skirt was folded in half and I sewed along the edge to create the seam. I folded the top edge over and sewed to create a casing for the elastic, inserted the elastic, sewed it off and finished up the casing. Viola!


I hope she enjoys it!

Car Seat Cover #2

Remember the car seat cover I made for Quinn? Well, not long after I posted it, I had a request to make one for another sweet little baby I know! So here it is!!!! You should get it today (you know who you are!!) Hope sweet little Miss O loves being snuggly warm in it!!!

Booooo...one of my favorite kid's clothing stores in Kansas City has closed. This month was their last month in business. Once the store went 80% off I went shopping. I stocked up on Keedo goodness for the girls. Looks like if I want anymore Keedo I will be heading to Ebay.

Our church, Life Church, is doing a corporate study of the book "The Me I Want to Be" by John Ortberg. This was our first night meeting in our small group to discuss it. So far I am truly enjoying it!

We celebrated Aunt Kate's birthday this evening. I loved this photo of Quinn with Zoe in the back. They are 4 months apart and I am looking forward to the many get-togethers where they can become good buddies!

Sewing Project!

Winter is in full force here in the Midwest! So I thought I would share a sewing creation of mine that has been getting lots of use!

I saw the tutorial on Cluck, Cluck Sew HERE and knew I wanted to try it! I just opted for warmer fabrics!
