My Girl

I just want to record this conversation Kennedy and I had on the way to preschool today. Out of the blue she says:

K: When I go to Heaven I am going to remind God and tell God if I see any bad people. When I go to Heaven.

Me: Ok, good idea.

Silence for a minute.

K: When I go to Heaven and I see you I am going ot hug you and hug you and hug you!!!

Me: Me, too!!! And we can sing and dance all around!

K: Yeah! Do you think we will be on clouds? And we can jump on them?

Me: Well, I don't know for sure. But that sure sounds like fun!

K: Yeah! (long pause) When we are in Heaven will God still be invisible?

Me: Nope! We will be able to see Him! I am so excited to see what he looks like!

K: Me, too! (giggle) Mom, when I go to Heaven and get my new body, will I get glasses?

Me: Nope! No one will wear glasses in Heaven because everyone's eyes will be perfect!

And we pull into the school parking lot. I love this girl to bits!!!!

Now onto some SHORT ANSWERS! Remember you can join in with Abigail HERE!!!

Yes, I realize this post is getting long, but I just have to share this one last thing! Kennedy has really been into learning Spanish lately! While I was doing my long term substitute job I had found some great videos on YouTube and TeacherTube to share with my students. She helped me pick some out and now she wants to listen to and watch them all the time!!!!

So here she is in her pirate outfit watching Spanish clips!

She has seen them so many times she can sing along with a lot of them! And just if you are curious...here are the clips!!!!

El alfabeto en espaƱol

As you know, I am back to the grind....teaching junior high Spanish again for a few months! I am loving it - at times it seems I almost never took 18 months off!!! I am enjoying my students and trying some new techniques and strategies this year! :) I love the creativity that teaching affords me!

Anyway, Kennedy has become more interested in Spanish lately. She has known her numbers and some colors for quite awhile, but now wants to know more! (I know I should have started with her as an infant....I do regret it sometimes). Last week she asked what my students had learned that day. So I sang her a song about the Spanish alphabet! I love to use music in my classroom and the students seem to enjoy it too - both cheesy, educational songs AND contemporary rock and pop songs!

Anyway...one of my students told me today that she found "our" Spanish alphabet song on You Tube and practiced it all weekend! Being that YouTube is blocked at school, I had to look it up when I got home today! I played it for Kennedy and she was having fun trying to repeat it and figure out the letters!!! Next time I will need the video camera out! But she learned a few letters!!

I just thought I would share this Spanish Alphabet song with you all!!! LOL! It really is terribly cheesy and annoying, but you might get a kick out of it! Oh, and remember that I listen to this song 15 times a day while we learn the alphabet!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!!

OH!!! I almost forgot! Today Kennedy told Debbie (our daycare provider) that when she grows up she wants to be a Mommy and maybe a Spanish teacher! That made me giggle!!!
